What is GFC Plasma Therapy? When to take GFC Plasma Therapy?

GFC Plasma Therapy, also known as autologous conditioned plasma, is a concentration of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells. Though promoted to treat an array of medical problems, evidence for benefit is mixed as of 2020, with some evidence for use in certain conditions and against use in other conditions. The cost per injection is generally US$500 to $2,000 as of 2019.
Evidence for the benefit of  GFC Plasma Therapy is mixed, with some evidence for use in certain conditions and against use in other conditions. It has been investigated for chronic tendonitis, osteoarthritis, in oral surgery, and in plastic surgery.
It has not been shown to be useful for bone healing. A 2016 review of  GFC Plasma Therapy use to augment bone graft found only one study reporting a difference in bone augmentation, while four studies found no difference. Besides the use in clinical practice GFC PLASMA THERAPY has been utilized for various tissue engineering applications in the context of bone, cartilage, skin, and soft tissue repair. It has been reviewed to serve as a source for the “delivery of growth factors and/or cells within tissue-engineered constructs, often in combination with biomaterials”.
GFC PLASMA THERAPY is prepared by taking blood from the person, and then putting it through two stages of centrifugation designed to separate GFC PLASMA THERAPY from platelet-poor plasma and red blood cells. This is usually done by the clinic offering the treatment, using commercially available kits and equipment. The resulting substance varies from person to person and from facility to facility, making it difficult to understand how safe and effective any specific use is.
GFC PLASMA THERAPY has also been injected into the vagina, in a procedure called “O-shot” or “orgasm shot” with claims that this will improve orgasms. There is no evidence, however, to support these claims.
There are concerns from researchers studying GFC PLASMA THERAPY that it may be overused in a clinical setting including by for-profit unproven stem cell clinics, which market it for dozens of conditions mostly without evidence.

Some in the medical community think that GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications.
There has been enough research to prove if GFC PLASMA THERAPY is an effective hair loss treatment. However, GFC PLASMA THERAPY therapy has been in use since the 1980s. It’s been used for problems such as healing injured tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
GFC PLASMA THERAPY therapy is a three-step process. Most GFC PLASMA THERAPY therapy requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.
When to take GFC PLASMA THERAPY?

Postsurgical repair: Sometimes doctors use GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections after surgery to repair a torn tendon (such as a rotator cuff tendon in the shoulder) or ligaments (such as the anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL). Osteoarthritis: Doctors have injected GFC PLASMA THERAPY into the knees of people with osteoarthritis.

 

Doctors may use platelet-rich plasma (GFC PLASMA THERAPY) on injuries or damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and skin.
To collect plasma, a doctor draws blood from your body and uses a machine to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. Then the doctor numbs the area of your body being treated with GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections. Once you’re numb, the doctor uses a needle to inject your plasma into the area of your body being treated.
For example, if you’re being treated for a muscle injury, your doctor would inject plasma into several locations in that muscle. In some cases, doctors use ultrasound technology during injections to make sure they’re targeting the right area. GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections usually take about 30 minutes, though it depends on the area you’re targeting.
Once platelets are in the area that’s being treated, they break down and release growth factors, which are compounds that help cells repair and renew. This is thought to trigger your body’s healing process.
Here’s an overview of some promising results from research on GFC PLASMA THERAPY and hair loss:

A 2014 study Trusted Source of 11 people with androgenic alopecia found that injecting 2 to 3 cubic centimeters of GFC PLASMA THERAPY into the scalp every 2 weeks for 3 months could increase the average number of follicles from 71 to 93 units. This study is too small to be conclusive, but it shows that GFC PLASMA THERAPY may be able to help increase the number of hair follicles that can actively support healthy hair.
A 2015 study Trusted Source of 10 people receiving GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections every 2 to 3 weeks for 3 months showed improvements in the number of hairs, the thickness of those hairs, and the strength of the hair roots. This study helps provide extra support to the findings of other GFC PLASMA THERAPY and hair loss studies. But 10 people is still too small a sample size to be conclusive.
A 2019 study compared two groups of people using different hair treatments for 6 months. One group of 20 used minoxidil (Rogaine), and the other group of 20 using GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections. Thirty people finished the study and results showed that GFC PLASMA THERAPY performed much better for hair loss than Rogaine. But the study also found that your level of platelets can affect how well your own plasma works for hair loss. A lower level of blood platelets may mean that GFC PLASMA THERAPY isn’t as effective for you. Thus we can say that GFC PLASMA THERAPY injections are very helpful to hair fall/hair loss patients. thus, the people who have the problem of hair fall should take GFC PLASMA THERAPY treatment.
