INSTRUCTION YOU NEED TO TAKE POST HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

After following the instructions and guidelines before and during the hair transplantation your chances of nil side effects increases. And also to give the best hair transplantation result with zero side effects and no scars you may also be provided with the list of instructions after hair transplant surgery.

The instructions needed to take after hair transplantation are as follows:

A] after the hair transplant the instructions to follow for that day include:

1. Take off the bandages from the back of the head.

2. Spread the diaper on the pillow (with its absorbing, rougher side up) to absorb wound exudate.

3. After dinner, take the provided antibiotic and painkiller.

4. Sleep so at night that the pillow and the implanted area do not touch. The back of the head (the site of the graft extraction) can touch the pillow without any problems.

B] The instructions to take after hair transplant surgery for the next 2 to 5 days:

1.The hair follicular units are very delicate, especially in the first one week. Therefore a bandage has been applied over the transplanted area. This bandage can be safely removed the next morning (after 18 to 24 hrs).

You may wet the bandage to help the bandage to come off easily without sticking.

Mild swelling may appear over the forehead which will subside on its own in about 3 to 4 days.

4.In the evening, soak the whole head with a gentle, lukewarm shower for 15-20 minutes, then if necessary, absorb the remaining water with a towel, performing very careful and gentle movements (do not rub!).

5.You can start taking a head bath from the day after the completion of your hair transplant procedure. Take care not to rub over the transplanted area. Daily head baths will keep the area clean and also help the crusts formed over the grafts to get dislodged early. Do not bath under a high-pressure shower. Pat dry after a bath.

6.Avoid heavy exertion/exercise/contact sports for the first 10 days.

7.At the end of ten days, you can start rubbing the transplanted area during the bath.

8.In the morning, shower the back of the head with lukewarm water and wash off the dried blood cloth spray the implanted area every two hours with the provided bottle of solution (2-3 squirts).

9.The transplanted hairs are usually seen to fall off within the first 4 weeks. This is followed by a resting phase of the hair roots. It takes 3 to 8 months on average for the grafts to start sprouting hair. This hair growth is a gradual process, with some roots taking longer to sprout hair than others. Rarely, some transplanted roots may take as long as 12 months to sprout hair.

C] Instructions to be followed after 6-8 days of hair transplant:

● At the end of 2 weeks, no special precautions are required. You can exercise and bathe normally.

● Spray the implanted area every two hours with the provided bottle of solution (2-3 squirts).

● In the evening, soak the whole head with a gentle, lukewarm shower for 15-20 minutes, then if necessary, absorb the remaining water with a towel, performing very careful and gentle movements (do not rub!)

● After soaking for 15-20 minutes (in the bath or during the shower), wash the implanted area with baby shampoo, performing very gentle finger movements to wash off the small crusts.

● This washing shall be performed daily until the crusts at the implanted area fall off (even 2x a day if necessary). Do not rub the crusts! It is not necessary to remove all crusts for the first time! With crusts, the upper, visible part of the hairs might fall off as well, but there is nothing to worry about because the hair follicles remain in their place; they enter a dormant phase and start to grow in a few months.

We should follow these instructions strictly to avoid swelling, infections, and side effects.

Please follow the recommendations we suggest for the post-operative period. These suggestions will help you to make the postoperative period and the wound healing as comfortable and symptom-free as possible. If you have any questions regarding these instructions, please feel free to contact us! Hair transplantation is a complex procedure, which can be associated with certain complications. If you carefully follow the instructions recommended here, you can decrease the risk of these complications to a minimum. Any activity which is contrary to medical advice, unfortunately, may increase complications and reduce expected results.
